Charlie Summers

Born in 2003, Charlie was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland and now lives in Jerusalem. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in history and most recently worked as a reporter for The Times of Israel, where he covered crime, police and the prison system. During his undergraduate studies, he nurtured a keen interest in the Levant under Ottoman imperial rule. Much of Charlie’s writing is driven by curiosity about his current place of residence and a desire to know its past and present inhabitants. He plans to dedicate this year to learning Arabic and honing his comprehension of Hebrew manuscripts. In his free time, he enjoys reading and going on walks.
