David spoke Basic Hebrew upon arriving in Israel as a Dorot Fellow. He lived in Jerusalem and began his year with a four month intensive Hebrew ulpan.

- Special Project: Interviewed/researched and created documentary film RE: Jewish identity of Israelis. [Mentored by artists/film editor/academic/etc.]
Wednesday
- Intensive Hebrew learning (ulpan): conversational Hebrew: (2hrs)
- Volunteered with the Domani (Gyspy Palestinians) Center in East Jerusalem (tutored and assisted center Director RE: development)
- DFI Seminar planning committee (va'ad) work (2hrs)
Thursday
- Dorot Seminar Day (6-16hrs)
Friday
- Learning: Dorot Fellow coordinated sessions RE: parshat hashavua. (2hrs)
Shabbat
- Shabbat is Shabbat . . . and once every three weeks, traveled to explore and spend a Shabbat in different ethnic communities around Israel via contacts of DFI Staff and former Fellows. (Ethiopian, Haredi, Moroccan, Ba'al Tsuvah, Black Hebrews, etc.)
