The completed on-line application, including letters of support, is due no later than 9:00am on March 3, 2008.
Applicants are asked to provide:
A brief description of the problem the Israel-based Mentor is addressing
A brief description of the Israel-based Mentor’s work on this problem
A description of the scope of work the Applicant will be doing to further the Israel-based Mentor’s work, including:
- the specific Need the scope of work will address
- the Intended Outcome(s) of the scope of work
- the Activities that will lead to the Intended Outcomes
- the Language Skills needed to accomplish the Activities
- the Timeframe for completing the scope of work
A proposed budget allocating the $5,000 to cover all living expenses, including travel, and costs related to the scope of work
Letters of support from the Israel-based Mentor and the home campus Faculty Advisor
A copy of the applicant’s current resume
A Registrar’s copy of the applicant’s transcript (NOTE: This is the only paper which should be submitted; the rest of the application must be submitted electronically.) Have the Registrar submit the transcript to:

Selection will be based on:
Potential impact of both the Israel-based Mentor’s work and the Applicant’s scope of work in furthering the Mentor’s work
Feasibility / Practicality (How likely is it, in general, that the scope of work can be implemented as described? Does the Applicant have the skills and capacities needed to successfully complete the scope of work?)
Strategic Thinking (How well thought out and how well articulated is the proposed mechanism for creating the desired social change?)
“Buy in” from the Israel-based Mentor and the home campus Faculty Advisor (Is it clear that the applicant is the right person for the proposed work? Do they have an accurate picture of the applicant’s skills and capacities to carry out the scope of work while living overseas?)
Reporting
Upon completion of the scope of work, each Award recipient is required to submit a report to the Dorot Foundation. The report should be 5-10 pages in length. The report must be accompanied by letters from both the Israel-based Mentor and the home campus Faculty Advisor detailing their thoughts on the impact of the experience – on the recipient, on the Mentor’s work and as it relates to the Goals of the Awards.
Reports and letters are due no later than October 1, 2008.
